I‘m Anna Lawrence, a published writer and experienced tutor, and I founded B-Writing. I’ve been running creative writing workshops across the West Midlands since 2010, and taught creative writing at Birmingham City University for seven years. I love to help people get writing, no matter what challenges they face.

Why B-Writing? B is for the brilliantly creative city of Birmingham, where I live and where my in-person classes happen. And because I believe that we can all learn to write with more heart, more energy and more skill, B also stands for Better. And because some of us want to write but struggle to do so (for whatever reason), it also stands for Befriending.

My novel, Ruby’s Spoon - a suspected witch and a suspected mermaid fetch up in a Black Country town - is published by Penguin Books. I’ve had poems published in Poetry Birmingham and non-fiction in Mslexia.
