This blog reflects on the works of Eastern and Western Church Fathers, and the moral philosophers that influenced Christianity, from ancient times to modern times, and their place in history. We will also cover the writings and history of those who fight for civil rights in America, as social justice is a critical issue for the church.
We will be writing a series of blogs on Trent, modern Catholic history, Vatican II, and the Catholic Catechism. Cardinal Ratzinger balanced the sources of the Catholic Catechism between the Eastern and Western Church Fathers, and we will read and reflect on the sources as we encounter them in the Catechism.
There will be a limited number of blogs on controversial yet essential issues like abortion, evolution, etc.
