✅Sharing Materials Event Planner invites you to participate in Sharing New Voices, in the webinar “CLIL+ local culture content= a perfect match”

✅About the webinar:

This presentation aims at exploring the benefits of the introduction of students’ own culture as content in the EIL classroom within the CLIL approach. As local-cultural-content-based material is in short supply, teachers should often develop and adapt content-rich, reader-friendly and cognitively challenging CLIL learning resources. It is necessary to trigger creativity and resourcefulness especially when adapting materials intended for native speakers or recreating resources in L1.

This workshop will guide participants to reflect on the importance of infusing CLIL and localized content into our classes. Besides, the presenter will share her experiences in real teaching contexts and invite attendants to plan some CLIL teaching proposals based on locally-contextualized content.

✅About the Speaker:

Jorgelina Carlassare graduated as Profesora de Inglés (Universidad Nacionalidad de Mar del Plata) and Licenciada en Educación (Universidad Nacional de Quilmes). She holds an M.A. in Teaching of English as a Foreign Language, Universidad de Jaén (Spain). She is currently a lecturer in Fundamentos de la Enseñanza y Aprendizaje del Inglés I and II at ISFD 19. Since 2005, she works in Teacher Development Programmes for the Ministry of Education (Pcia. de Bs. As.). She’s lectured on ELT-related topics and facilitated British Council’s Reading Groups. She’s the Head of Studies at TEC School of English and the Academic Director of SELT Exams. She’s the author of Art and Communication On Stage (Pearson, 2000) and Welcome to English 3 (shortlisted for the ELTons 2010). Her main areas of interest are professional development, material design and assessment.
