HOW IT WORKS:

JOINING THE SALON

The waiting room opens 15 minutes before the Salon. Once the Salon begins, latecomers will not be admitted in.

WRITING: 14 Minutes

You will see the TNM Concept of the Week, a photo, and the first prompt.
Write in any voice, any style you like. (7 minutes)
Next you get the second prompt to weave in and finish as best you can. (7 minutes)
Keep your piece no longer than a page. (about 500 words)
Let your imagination lead you. Letting go is more important than writing perfectly.

BREAKOUT GROUPS: 12 Minutes

After writing, everyone is randomly assigned to small breakout groups.
Everyone takes turns reading their piece.
Listeners: Be silent witnesses. Just appreciate where that person's imagination took them.
After everyone reads, let the conversation flow respectfully. No probing questions.

BREAKOUT MOSAIC: 5 Minutes

Everyone shares one sentence in rapid fire.

BREAKOUT PAIRS: 5 Minutes

You will be randomly assigned with one other person to verbally share a conversational prompt.

GROUP SHARE & Close.

NEWCOMERS: Please write in the CHAT "first time" & join us after the salon for more info and introductions.

SALON RULES:

MUTUAL RESPECT: Remain aware and conscientious of your choice of words, tone, and body language.

LISTENING: When listening to others, be a witness. Listen openly and without judgment, without critique or feedback of any kind - even positive feedback.

TAKING TURNS: Please raise your electronic hand rather than calling out. Keep comments brief.

CAMERAS ON at all times except while writing. Please use your real name as your Zoom display name. If you can't get your camera on, we'll give you 3 notifications and then remove you from the Salon that you are attending, but no hard feelings! Please come back whenever you like.

CONFIDENTIALITY is essential. What is said here, stays here. Only you have the right to share your story so never discuss others' stories or ideas within or outside the group.
