Readers Repertory

We are a small theater company that concentrates on interpreting plays from the text without completely memorizing the lines. We use limited movement and costumes and sets to create the play in the viewer's mind.

Some people call it theater of the mind because it engages the audience in creating their own images based on what they hear. For us it gives the opportunity to concentrate on the words of the author. Costumes, extravagant blocking, intricate sets and the like don't distract from what the author has to say.

It is no less theater than a fully staged Broadway hit. It has the attraction of drawing the audience directly into engagement with the words of the play.
