At the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), we do research into the causes, effects, and treatment of inflammation to improve people’s health.

We explore a range of conditions affected by inflammation including cancer, arthritis, liver disease, women’s health, and heart disease.

We are funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and hosted by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Birmingham and our associate partners, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, Aston University, Keele University and University of Oxford.
