Myths with Marcus

In trying to write this, ‘About me’, blurb, I googled ‘what is the word for a person who loves stories?’ and it came back with - ‘bibliophile’ which means ‘a person who collects or has a great love of books.’ Which is close but not quite right, I do love books. But my love affair is really with stories. I was lucky enough to have been read to, a lot, as a child. And it deeply affected me, with a sense of wonder, magic and mystery. When I look back now, I can see how much of a gift it was, to have a nearly daily occurrence of being transported to a magical other world. That is what I love about stories, the journeys they allow us to take. I suppose I am someone who loves stories, a ‘storyphile’, someone who loves travel, which in ancient Greek is a ‘hodophile’, and finally I love sharing these journeys in community, so I am a ‘bibliophile’, ‘storyphile’, ‘hodophile’ and someone who likes sharing his love of all those things!
