Josh

Joshua Welch is a dedicated pillar of the community. Joshua is a proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Western North Carolina. Bestowed the honor of serving America in the greatest capacity as a United States Army JFO from 2003-2011, enlisting at 17 years old. Joshua served 5 tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and South Korea. He is credited with multiple overseas and wartime awards to include the Global War on Terrorism, Army Commendation, Combat Action Badge, and the coveted Purple Heart. After service, treading into Tribal politics while serving as a commissioner for the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs from 2021-2023. While commissioned, Joshua continued service to his community serving as a teacher and basketball coach. After years of service, Joshua used his business degree and went into the corporate side while serving as the Vice President of Marketing for an up and coming public corporation providing affordable housing. Joshua served as a University Counselor and Account Exec.
