British Association of Bobath Trained Therapists

Background

BABTT was established to create regional and national forums to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for Bobath-trained paediatric therapists who work in the United Kingdom and Eire. This was to include:

• providing opportunities for ongoing training, clinical reasoning & application of skills

• keeping members abreast of new developments within the Bobath approach

• setting, improving & maintaining standards amongst British Bobath trained therapists

• promoting a better understanding of the Bobath concept amongst other professionals and parents

Becoming a member

You can become a BABTT member if you

• are a post-graduate Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist or Medic

• reside within the British Isles or Eire

• are a fully subscribed member of your professional body (e.g. CSP, RCOT, RCSLT, BMA)

• have paid the annual subscription

NB Please note that only members who have completed and passed the 8-week foundation Bobath course are eligible to attend and participate in practical workshops.

NB 1-year free membership is offered to therapists at the point of successful completion of the foundation Bobath course.

Membership Benefits

• Access to a national network of Bobath-trained paediatric therapists

• BABTT newsletter/journal 2-3 times per year featuring articles, book reviews, reports etc

• Reduced registration fees for annual CPD events

• Reduced registration fees to attend regional study events and treatment workshops

• Eligible to apply for funding through the BABTT education grant

• Continued professional development including opportunities to develop skills as a member of the Executive committee (following nomination)

• Access to iCSP (Physiotherapists will already have access to this forum)
