Routes Radicals
Independent punk platform Routes Radicals is launching in London this year with a mission to champion diverse and underrepresented voices in alternative music.
Created by writer and cultural organiser Sandy Dhaliwal, the project will combine a new music zine, podcast and live events programme exploring punk culture through an intersectional lens.
The platform aims to spotlight artists often overlooked by mainstream music media — particularly performers who are women, people of colour, disabled, queer and neurodivergent.
Routes Radicals will feature artist interviews, gig reviews, cultural commentary and a forthcoming podcast series exploring the wider stories and communities surrounding the punk scene.
The project also launches Give 'Em The Boot, a new DIY punk cabaret party bringing together bands with drag and burlesque performers.
Launching during the 50th anniversary of punk rock, Routes Radicals and Give 'Em The Boot celebrates punk’s DIY ethos while building new platforms for voices that have historically been underrepresented within the scene.
