In this introductory session to Educational Neuroscience we will discuss some of the main elements from the neurobiology of learning that add value to Education in the present days. Then we will devote our attention to the Primacy-Recency Effect for Enhancing Memory In a learning episode we tend to remember new elements differently, based on the moment of the class in which it was introduced. According to the Primacy-Recency Effect we should plan for different moments and different purposes in a class that cares for retention and good memory.

Joaquín Triandafilide @triandafilide

An English teacher, MA in Applied Linguistics and a Neuroeducator. He devotes most of his time to teacher training in Brain-friendly approaches and schools mentoring programs in Chile and Latin America. A member of Mind, Brain, and Education Think-Tank Team for the JALT (Japan Association of Language Teachers). A local promoter of the Brain Awareness Initiative as a Dana Foundation Partner in Latin America. He has recently launched a Diploma in Neuroscience and TESOL with the collaboration of Cambridge University Press in Chile.
