About this event

Gringos in Buenos Aires is a live, all-English podcast broadcast from the studios of Recoveco Records. Hosted by writer Paul Perry with Co-Host Mandanga Dance, the show explores the lives of expats living in Argentina through candid interviews and vibrant conversations.

Each week, guests from the worlds of music, literature, art and science share their stories, passions and experiences of life in Buenos Aires. Airing live every Tuesday evening, the podcast offers a unique cultural bridge—connecting international voices with the creative pulse of the city.

Paul Perry is a gringo icon in Buenos Aires. Originally from Philadelphia, has become a true local legend since moving to the city in the 1990's. What started as a personal journey has turned into a decades-long love affair with Argentina—and a life marked by creativity, hustle, and reinvention.

Paul's first formal job? Rapper. Yes, before the books, the stage and the interviews, Perry was laying down verses in his native Philly. After arriving in Buenos Aires, he quickly adapted, working as a street salesman on Florida Street, charming passersby with his wit and charisma. He later transitioned into teaching English—a role that opened the door to his now-celebrated literary career.

Today, Paul is known across the local expat and artistic communities as a published author, a respected actor, and the visionary force behind Buenos Aires' expat baseball scene, a passion project that brought Americans and Argentines together on the field long before it was trendy.

With his signature style and unmatched social skills, Paul has carved out a space as one of Buenos Aires’ most colorful voices—bridging cultures, championing the arts, and turning the expat experience into something unforgettable.

Mandanga Dance is an Argentine musician, broadcaster, and co-host who will guide Paul through this new adventure.
