About this Event

A new way to generate, transmit and distribute energy is taking place in an industry, which has powered our lives for more than 140 years. In this Meeting Point, we will discuss the main challenges and opportunities to transition towards the new energy portfolios both globally and locally. Our group of renowned panellists will provide their insight and experience in topics such as distributed energy resources, smart grids, market and political changes, energy storage, geothermal energy and more. Join us to learn and discuss the future of electric power in our Meeting Point "Energy 4.0 - Challenges and Opportunities".

Angelico Engelhardt

Electronics Engineer from ITBA and MSEE Electric Power with honours from the University of Southern California, which he completed with the support of the Fulbright Scholarship. He founded Engelec, a hardware design centre for disruptive startups, and is currently working at ETAP Argentina as Regional Director in South America, developing hardware and software solutions for the electric power industry worldwide.

Cecilia Smoglie

Professor and Director of the Master ITBA-KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) in Energy and Environment. Physicist, Inst. Balseiro, Argentina. - Graduate studies on Nuclear Engineering, Uni. London. - Dr. Ing., Uni. Karlsruhe, Germany. - Researcher at National Commission of Atomic Energy, Argentina. - Invited researcher at Atomic Center Karlsruhe, Germany - Development Engineer for Power Plants, Asea Brown Bovery, Switzerland. - ASME Instructor for Heat Exchangers.

Martin Fraguío Founder and member of GPS- Group of Producing Countries of the Southern Cone. Founder and Director of Carbon Group Agro-Climatic Solutions. Professor of Bioenergy and Circular Economy at the ITBA-KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) Master in Energy and Environment. Member of the National Cabinet on Climate Change. He was founder and Executive Director of the Argentine Corn and Sorghum Value Chain Association, Maizar.

Pablo Estruga Electrical engineer from ITBA, has a Master in Energy and Environment from ITBA-KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). He worked at Pampa Energía and Edenor. He currently works at SolarLatam, a regional company that provides a turnkey solution for photovoltaic solar energy projects. They operate in Argentina, Chile, Panama and Miami.

Juan Francisco Gutiérrez Guerra

Chemical Engineer (ITBA), he is in the last stages of the Master in Energy and Environment from ITBA-KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). He is currently working for GTN on a project involving the integration of geothermal energy in Salto Grande (Entre Ríos Province, Argentina).
