Event description
Educational, fun AND affordable! Our Summer Camps are the solution for your summer care needs.

About this event

It's time for summer fun! Let's get off screen and outside! Week 8 of our EmpowerME Summer Break camps is our Mad Scientist session! This week, our kids will raise butterflies from caterpillars, participate in a volcano experiment and partner with Square Root Academy for a STEM Activity.

EmpowerME offers full day childcare on all the days your school is closed! Our Non-School Day care programs, including Winter, Spring and Summer Break Camps, are designed to be a safe, fun, affordable resource. EmpowerME Break Camps are open to all children, with opportunities for single parents to receive tuition discounts. A typical day at our camps includes: a STEAM activity, reading and journaling, a values- reinforcement activity, indoor and outdoor play, games, special guests and more! Week-long summer camps include morning and afternoon snacks, a weekly trip the the park and pool, and have the following themes:

6/14-6/18: Outdoor Explorers

6/21- 6/25: Summertime Stories

6/28-7/2: Discovering Dinosaurs

7/6-7/9: Totally Technology

7/12-7/16: Space is the Place

7/19-7/23: Game Show Mania

7/26-7/30: Sports Extravaganza

8/2-8/6: Mad Scientist

An enrollment packet must be completed for each child prior to attending. Please allow 10 minutes to complete the packet on the first day of attendance or email letaunya@empowermechildcare.com to have the packet emailed to you in advance. All children must bring a sack lunch. Snacks are provided. Space is filled on a first come, first served basis. Individual day registration is available for $30 per day, if space is available. Please call the Empowerment Center to confirm availability for a particular date or for any additional questions, at (916) 735-5350.

We are proud to have remained open, serving our community, throughout the COVID-19 crisis. In extreme caution, we will have limited capacity for care. It is crucial that we maintain the health of our students and staff, therefore, we have taken extra cleaning and safety precautions and are checking children’s temperatures upon arrival and on a regular basis. We reserve the right to request pick-up of your child, if an elevated temperature, cough or other signs of illness are detected. Finally, the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve, and, as a licensed care provider, we are subject to the rules imposed by the California Department of Social Services. Should discontinuance of care be mandated, we will require that your child be picked up from the center within an hour of notification.

Organizer Single Mom Strong, Inc. a California non-profit organization

Organizer of EmpowerME Summer Camps for School-Aged Kids- Wk 8 : Mad Scientist!

Statistics shows that children of single mothers suffer in a variety of ways and the mothers often find themselves living in poverty and riddled with guilt or frustration. But, we are here to change the statistics.  We believe that single mothers and their children do not have to be negatively impacted by this circumstance. In fact, being "single-mom-strong: having grit and determination; refusing to fail", is not detrimental at all... Single Mom Strong exists for the empowerment of single mothers and their children through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs.  Funds raised are used to advance our mission.

It is the mission of Single Mom Strong to create a community of single mothers and children in support of one another, while empowering them to be their best selves, through enrichment, encouragement and educational programs.
